When Lalita joined us in 2021, Cuscal was at the forefront of the emerging Open Banking landscape. This revolutionary technology transformed the way Australians manage their money. For Lalita, it represented a chance to build something from scratch and to shape the data economy in a way that integrates payments and innovation.
“It was an exciting time,” she says. “And I really wanted to be part of that.”
After spending three years as our Compliance Manager in Open Banking, Lalita transitioned into Domain Operational Risk and Regulatory Compliance. As a manager in this dynamic and diverse role, Lalita’s work revolves around ensuring Cuscal operates within its risk management framework while meeting stringent regulatory requirements.
But for Lalita, it’s more than a box-ticking exercise. It’s about finding the right approach and, she explains, there’s never just one way to achieve the right outcome.
“People think risk and compliance is very dry – it’s actually not,” says Lalita. “If you get into the depth of it, it’s very interesting. Every day is different, and you’re constantly having to innovate and think outside the box.
“Integrity is at the heart of what I do in Risk and Compliance. It’s about ensuring we get the right outcomes for everyone involved.”
