Meet Angela Powell

Angela joined Cuscal in February 2024 as Chief Risk Officer, leading the Group Risk and Compliance function and overseeing risk and compliance across the Cuscal Group.

Angela brings extensive experience in risk management, governance and regulatory engagement, partnering with Boards, Executive leadership teams and business leaders to support sustainable growth and informed decision-making. She has played a key role in leading large scale risk transformation and uplift initiatives, strengthening governance, operational resilience and client trust in a rapidly evolving payments and financial services environment. Angela also provides strategic risk advisory support and oversight on mergers and acquisitions, including the integration of Indue into the Cuscal Group.

Angela has over 20 years’ experience in banking and financial services across Australia and internationally, with deep expertise in risk management, governance, regulation, operational resilience and strategic transformation.

Prior to joining Cuscal, Angela held senior leadership and advisory roles with Promontory, Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), ING Australia and Lloyds International.

Angela holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Finance and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Risk Management Institute of Australasia.
